I got into work early this morning and have been cracking away at a tax memo for the last 5 hours. I needed a break. I hit a pretty big milestone for me recently.
I am writing a novel. I plan to publish it some day. I have heard the general goal is around 90,000 to a maximum of 150,000 words for the Young Adult market. I just recently crossed the 45,000 word mark and that makes me at least 1/3 but maybe 1/2 of the way through the story. Coincidentally, having already outlined the story, it goes pretty quick and I am at Chapter 21 of 43, so I'm about right on.
In my dream of dreams, this will be a 3-4 book series and will let me live all my other dreams. I better get back to work.

45,000 words is impressive. What's the general idea of the book?
I only recently discovered that writing novels is easier if you outline the story first.
